This trope is being worn to the point of absurdity. Yes, people don't like things. All throughout history. Sometimes reasonably, sometimes unreasonably.
It's not about "like" or "dislike". It's that people are unsettled by new technology that they can't immediately get their heads around. But today, it sounds kind of silly to be unsettled by the concept of a database.
