Seems pretty clear to me that NIL should be covered under Title IX:

How is NIL money different than scholarship money?

I think Title IX needs to be updated. It’s a fact that men’s sports, in general, generate more interest and money. As such, if athletes are going to be paid then male athletes on average deserve more pay.

Cool, then they should update it, not take this action against it.

I’m not a lawyer. NIL may be a murky area of this law based off of case law. Maybe this action is appropriate in the sense of being legal and within the norms of Presidential power.
