When will it be, a year from now, two? There will be a headline somewhere, then it will get posted to Hacker News. Microsoft, in an attempt to placate thousands of ChatGPT related copyright lawsuits from around the world, files for bankruptcy.



I sincerely doubt that the US government would let the manufacturer of the Standard Business Operating System go bankrupt. That's just not in the national interest.


Windows is on a lot of desktops but I think it's fair to say the world runs on Linux, if the US Government ever wises up to this; maybe they will develop the balls to act in America's best interest and split Microsoft, Google and Amazon. And really split Microsoft up this time, not like the late 1990's when they threatened too then suddenly Bill and Bill were photographed golfing together and to no-one's surprise, the DOJ dropped the effort to split Microsoft up.
