I think the answer is pretty clear - Netflix made them gay.
But seriously this is nothing more than a person coming to terms with their sexuality and having an audit trail of media they consumed during that time . They drove the algorithm as much as it drove them is my guess.
There is a point where we are not really aware of who we are or why we're here. Then there's a point where we know who/what we are, but we can't really put a name to those things. Putting it in words, giving things names, these are pivotal parts of self-realization, but that knowledge existed before we knew what to call it. So it's not surprising that in this lady's journey of knowing herself that she was subconsciously aware of a thing, and perhaps acting that out unknowingly too, before she could decide to "come out of the closet" in an official way, and name the way she felt.
