I’d never heard of mobbing. That’s an awesome idea.


"Mobbing" means "bullying" in Swedish, which initially confused me greatly.


It's not really a positive term in English either, I think the name's supposed to be a joke


I didn't know it had a negative connotation.


“Ensemble programming” is a slightly better name for it.


My team calls it Swarming. We Swarm up on a problem like a bunch of hornets, together we hammer that shit from many angles, heavyweight team and then boom, it's done. I think I got it from TPS


I am yet to see pairing work effectively for more than 20-30 minutes at a time, on a very specific problem, that really needs shared expertise. "Mobbing" sounds horrible 99% of the time.


I've done it a bit in a professional environment and it worked well. I wouldn't want to do it 100% of the time, but it has its uses.
