I also wonder what happens if you have a device that repeatedly calls the AirTag to drain the battery..



Find my iPhone data is end to end encrypted. If your device sees a lost phone nearby, it doesn’t get to know who’s phone - it just sends the encrypted blob to Apple.

Apple then doesn’t even know the location. The lost-phone-owner decrypts it.
