kinda true, but I'm surprised how some apps expect you to watch movies upright (TV+, Disney), which makes watching movies laying down quite "non ergonomic". ;)
The Meta Quest 2/3 finally fixed that a few months ago [1], where you "tilt" the horizon of the entire OS [2]. So it doesn't matter if an app doesn't support it -- you can lie on your bed and watch a screen directly above you even if it was only designed for horizontal use. It's a game-changer if you have back/neck problems.
Does the AVP not have something equivalent? To be honest, I was surprised it took Meta so long to get around to implementing it.
AVP doesn't support it when in 'theater mode' but if your video is a typical window you can simply lie down and recenter it onto the ceiling. The horizon stays locked but any windows can be parallel to the ground.
This is more or less only (sadly) a problem with apple headphones.
You can switch the current microphone on Mac by ALT-Clicking the audio menubar icon. Normally MacOS will remember and follow your decision, except when you have apple headphones. For some stupid reason MacOS forces the headphone microphone on those.
Not true. I have a HyperX moc and it’s always the default, no matter what app I use. I have several Apple headphones, works that way with all of them. macOS 14.7 now, it’s always been this way.
Never had a problem using my Sennheiser PCX 550 (Bluetooth) with a Rode Video Mic Go II (USB). But when connecting my AirPods MacOS would switch the mic to them.
Setting FaceId is the first step, but you can also decide how often you have to reenter your password for reauthentication, or just so you don’t forget it. Directly beneath the face-id option.
Thank you for catching that issue with the STRING_AGG limit! I just pushed a fix that now supports nvarchar(max) to avoid truncation. This should resolve the issue with large outputs in MSSQL. If you still encounter any problems, please let me know. I'd love for you to give it another try and see if everything works as expected now. Your feedback is invaluable!
Yeup. Seconded. MSSQL as well. Was curious what the output would look like given it's a fairly large db (a crap ton of mostly useless tables kept for archival purposes).
In regards to VR, I think Valve could really move the hole situation by building/providing SteamLink VR on AVP, as they do on Meta Quest. Buy any Bluetooth (VR) Controller and enjoy games streamed.
And maybe in some future I will be able to stream from Linux hosts via SteamLink.
Exactly, a device that expensive has to deliver as much value as possible.
Trying to sell a lifestyle accessory for people who have to own every Apple product that there is the beginning of the end for Apple that they’ll be talking about in business school the way we talk about DEC, Tandem and Commodore today.
