35 Vector DBs? Oh wow! Super cool to see the comparison all in one place..

Oh I read a lot of HNSW stuff on your/Pinecone blog series. (Great learning resource btw, well done!) So I assumed you were using HNSW already. It's a news to me that you don't use it.

Super interesting. Can you share what is the consulting/freelance rate going for skilled software people?

Prices in excess of 1'000 CHF/day are not unusual if you get someone through an agency. Freelancer rates I’m less sure of, but they’re probably not far behind.

ING/ABN? What kind of roles though? Sr/lead/principal or management role?

Both, actually for ING. Though, again, this is achievable for the top tier. Question of scale, more than position.

I am Non EEA citizen :( true that Swiss is not immigration friendly.. difficult to find jobs

I'm a non European expat based in Dublin but willing to relocate anywhere in EU. DS- Data Scientist, niche in the area of IR/NLP/ML with MS in AI.

I've heard that a lot.. but a) Swiss living cost is expensive b) Difficult to find job as non European

Thanks.. but not an EU/GB citizen.. won't be possible contracting in U.K.

What companies would that be? If you could name few..

I couldn't even finish reading this long article. Just a para or two, after that simply skimmed through till end. :-(

Meh, I think it's fine.

What is he/she really saying?

There's a thousand and one problems one could be solving in his/her life. Checking twitter/facebook less often and reading words printed on paper is priority number 356 for me. I don't know why it ranks so high for the author to warrant a blog post.

The real issue is not having your priorities straight that you are worrying about your allocation of time/resources. Surely there's bigger fish to fry in your own life - where's the blog post on that?
