Shortest damn outage ever

I've seen this post on every who's hiring for the last 6 months. Are they even hiring? Applied twice and got no response

> AI overviews now have 2 billion users every month

More like 2 billion hostages

I'm genuinely curious how much of the web depends on cloudflare and AWS. This centralisation sucks though

I did not anticipate this much traffic, working on restoring it right now

I’ve heard that GPT 5 Pro is great at fixing bugs.

Curious about your hosting stack? I'm always curious if a jam stack site can handle these big surges better. Or is this just a single VPS?

Maybe it's hosted on a disposable vape

Ah yes, the good ol' HN hug o' death.

Always wondered how much this much traffic is. Would love to see a behind the scenes view of the numbers of requests made

The peak is a handful of requests per second. If you have a static site, the cheapest Hetzner tier handles it just fine.

A few bad updates borked my Linux install and cost me hours of potential work and left me with a deep fear of installing updates. No idea what I'd do if I had a car that needs updates

Paying to reduce the number of ads is like going to the hospital to get only part of a tumor removed
