Thanks for sharing the link. It was as scientific as philosophical.

This is quite comprehensive. I wonder if GPT-5/AI Tools handle the guidances given separately (in a separate context) or is it processed as regular text and is lost when data exceeds it's context window.

Seems like posted 6 days back as well - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44754457.

I don't see any font images itself in the repo but some glyph files which seem to be defining the fonts- https://github.com/googlefonts/googlesans-code/blob/main/sou... . Any one has more references to how this works? How can you define a font with code - do you give which pixel would be filled in a box or something else. And this has tests as well.

Fonts-As-Code !!

Liked the idea. Few suggestions:

1. Would be great to have some facility to save the links across browsers/devices so that this is not lost on reinstalling browser or switching device. May be by upload to user's own Google Drive or iCloud account - so that doesn't cost you storage cost.

2. Right now, I see it's working only for the homepage links, and not for other discovery pages such as https://news.ycombinator.com/newest or https://news.ycombinator.com/ask or even https://news.ycombinator.com/front. You can find the official lists here : https://news.ycombinator.com/lists . Would be great to support these.

3. Would be good to have the source code available - to give more confidence on the plugin as well as others can improve on it.

4. Checkbox at the start is distracting - can it be put at the end of item line or having option to customize would be good.

More power to hacker news developers.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I've already addressed items 2 and 3. An update is under review on the Chrome Web Store and I've put the code on Github: https://github.com/arnipluseinn/Hacker-News-Saver

The other two items on your list are going to need some more thinking/work.

I was randomly going over my past HN activity and bumped over this gem from here https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38624968 and posted :)

Ah, I was wondering how it ended up posted here. Thanks!

this brought a little more joy to my day, thank you

Any such app/util for iPhone / Android?

There's a dedicated button for turning of the display on every iPhone model, all Android phones I owned had one too. Usually on the right side

Well :) - was looking for something more automated and on schedule. Not subjected to human forgetfulness !!.

These are some of the courses I have liked and learnt well from:

I have found blogposts by Toni Pasanen to be quite good in explaining networking requirements of the AI Infra. Ex. https://nwktimes.blogspot.com/2025/04/ai-fabric-backend-netw... There are more posts on the same blog.

Articles by Sharada Yeluri on APNIC blog are also good: ex. https://blog.apnic.net/2025/06/03/scale-up-fabrics/

Something which would help me be "aware" in real life of finite ness of life. Like the computer break utils (TimeOut on Mac/ Stretchly etc) which can help disconnect from the screen in front of you, even for a bit of time, and force you outside of whatever you are currently engaged on in the screen.

There's stuff like https://www.rescuetime.com/ which both forces you to stop and makes you aware of what you're using the screen for.

Yes, I want to have something similar for non screen time as well. To start off, having something similar for mobile device would be good - I have not been able to find any app which can go full screen and block the screen for 15 sec, after each 10 mins or so on mobile.
